Focusing on the daily lives of Moslem women in France, Women of Islam encompasses the differing views of women themselves in regards to their status in the eyes of Koranic law. For some women, the law is inspirational and liberating; for others, it is an oppressive political and social ideology. In her film, Ahcene proposes a powerful message for all women: real change must come from them.
