Here, the acclaimed director of Z and Missing Costa Gavras creates a comedy of errors. Stan, a Polish writer newly emigrated to Paris, finds himself the center of attention when his botched attempts to change a light bulb are misinterpreted as an attempted suicide. His friends conspire to alleviate his "desperate state." All seems well until his new publisher has his own ideas for publicity, Stan should publicly burn himself in the square.
