Air-breathing marine reptile with a streamlined body, large flippers and beautiful shell. It uses its fore flippers like wings when swimming, and its hind flippers like rudders. The hawksbill ranges from 2 1/2 to 3 feet in shell length and 100-200 lbs. It is named for its hawk-like beak.
