Getting to work
April, 2000

Commute got you down? Us too! Driving adds more to air pollution and global warming than anything else individuals do. But since you have to get to work somehow, the question is how to do it better. Luckily, there are a number of ways -- easy, less easy, and fun.

EASY

  • Don't idle your car for more than a minute.
  • Inflate your tires.
  • Park in the shade.

LESS EASY

  • Take public transportation.
  • Carpool.
  • Bike.
  • Move closer to work.

FUN

  • Buy a hybrid, or simply a more efficient conventional car than your current model.
  • Telecommute!
